Columbus Monthly

As the editorial assistant at Columbus Monthly, I wrote about art/art openings, sports, music, fitness, food/dining and other local, lifestyle-related subjects. The pieces appeared both in print and online.

A selection of my Columbus Monthly work:

  • profile of Los Angeles artist Tomory Dodge, whose work appeared in NOW-ISM: Abstraction Today at the Pizzuti Collection in Columbus.
  • “Into the Wild,” a piece of travel writing about my time exploring Pocahontas County, West Virginia, for a cover story about drive-able destinations. I spent three days doing and seeing as much as I could.
  • “Record Renaissance,” a story about the rebirth of Used Kids, the legendary Columbus record store.
  • “Democratically Elected Art,” a preview of Columbus art collective Wild Goose Creative’s second annual “Instagram art exhibit,” plus a round-up of three participating Columbus-based artists and their work.
  • “Look the Part,” from a cover story we did about health and fitness. I picked all of the featured items and worked closely with the art director to lay the spread out make sure each item fit into the pink palette.
