The Icecreamist is a magazine, art project, and multidisciplinary creative consultancy founded by me and Alex Johnson in 2011. Our founding principle: There’s something to be said for standing on the sidewalk eating an icecream cone.

The (fictional) all-knowing editor-in-chief of the publication, and CEO and creative director of the consultancy, known only as The Icecreamist Herself, is the ultimate trendsetter, an all-knowing oracle, able to divine any and all cultural occurrences years before they actually occur.

The magazine is comprised of commissioned essays, short fiction, and poetry, as well as original artwork, collage, photography, reviews, and editorials. It’s printed in full color, in limited editions; each copy is hand-numbered. Volume 1 was published in 2011; Volume 2 in 2012; Volume 3 in 2016; Volume 4, which introduced a larger format and glossy redesign, was published in 2021; Volume 5 is forthcoming.
